7.21-22~

(7.21) The first law of success is service.

Service refers to the quality of interaction we have with others. Often, we think of service as giving money or volunteering. While it may be these things, service may also be much more immediate. The way we treat one another may also be considered service especially if our intention trumps our lack of interest.

We may also be in service not only to others, but to the Universal quality that exists within others and ourselves. Honoring the divine within is an act of service. In this context, mindful living–including every willpower challenge–is an act of service because it is a conscious choice to harmonize with the principles of natural law.

(7.22) We can be of the most service by keeping an open mind. Be interested in the race not the goal; the pursuit not the possession.

Keeping an open mind is essential to remaining teachable. Absolutes are walls around the creative potential of nature. The expansion of consciousness is is an expression of nature observing itself. Because this is an evolving process, we are unable to fathom the “goal,” thus, our interest should be on the journey, trusting that life is unfolding to provide us with the tools to enhance our experience of the “pursuit.”
