True science and true religion are predicated on allowing observation to transform perception. We demonstrate our competence in observation by integrating the knowledge we have gained. We integrate this knowledge by feeling the impact of applying this knowledge and allowing it to transform what we think and do.
(7.30) Success is an effect not a cause. If we want to secure the effect, we must ascertain the cause-the thought or idea–by which the effect is created.

All effects have a cause. Our predominant mental attitude determines how we think, which determines how we feel. Service leads to success.

Universal Mind–original divine consciousness–exists within each person. Thinking allows to to connect with Universal Mind. Thinking determines how we feel. Feeling determines how we think. When we take initiative to direct our thoughts, we can transform how we feel.
