(6.24) Thought is spiritual and therefore creative and correlates with it’s object and brings it into manifestation.
We’ve all heard the familiar saying, “Be careful what you wish for.” Typically, the “moral” communicated in this saying is that if we our wishes were to be granted, they would not solve our problems. While this is true, there is much more to this wise saying.
There was once a young man who was very depressed because he was smitten with a local women whose family had arranged for her to marry his best friend. He wandered into the surrounding hills and was prepared to throw himself into the ravine when he came across a guru who was deep in meditation. As the young man cared nothing for his life, he thought nothing of interrupting the guru.
“Why does the universe conspire against me?” the young man asked.
The guru continued meditating, and the young man continued to ask the guru, again and again. he began kicking dust at the guru and shouting his question.
“You think the universe conspires against you because it does not do what you want? Foolish man. Your wish has been granted. Go and leave me in peace.”
The young man was ecstatic and returned to the village feeling as though his life had been given back to him. As he entered the village, there was great wailing and mourning. As it turns out, a lion had killed his best friend while he was hunting. Now the young man was free to marry the object of his desire. He hadn’t wanted his friend to die, though. That was unfortunate, but he had his wish.
After the marriage, life grew very complicated. His new wife did not fit in very well with his family, nor he with hers. Their first three children died in childbirth and eventually his wife cheated on him.
In less than five years, the young man was back in the hills, prepared to throw himself in the ravine when he spotted the old guru, still in meditation.
He approached the old man.
“Why has the universe conspired against me?’ he asked.
This time, the old man guru spoke without hesitation, “The universe had a plan. You didn’t like it, so it granted your wish, and you still don’t like it. As long as you consider a conspiracy anything you do not desire, you will always be miserable.”
(2.20) Thought will correlate with its object and bring it into manifestation because thought is a product of the spiritual man and spirit is the creative principle of the universe.
(6.25) The Law of Vibration is the Natural law brought into operation by this activity.
(4.17) …All natural laws are invincible, unchangeable, and act with mathematical certitude – without deviation or variation.
(6.26) A higher rate of vibration governs, controls, changes or destroys a lower rate of vibration.
Higher means harder. The atoms that vibrate to form the table that keep your computer from falling are vibrating very fast. The atoms in paper that allow you to tear it in two are vibrating very slow. If you want to put you hand through a desk as easily as you rip the paper, you need to develop a higher rate of vibration that the atoms holding together the table.
The ability to concentrate is facilitated by rapid vibration. When you are watching TV otherwise susceptible to hypnotism, your mind is vibrating slowly – thoughts are scattered and you are easily led around by whatever catches your attention from moment to moment.
